When I attended a graphic designer’s conference in San Diego, California, I attended a freelance graphic design seminar that was clearly aimed at graphic designers who were seeking a career opportunity or even a work at home business doing freelance work. Of course freelancing has been around for quite some time, but with the advent of new technologies, namely the internet, and many of its products and services, freelancing has become something that many people have thought about doing in one way or another.
But let’s take a look at the freelance graphic design opportunity available for the talented graphic designers out there. Not only is graphic design freelance a very rewarding career, it is one that gives you flexibility with your time, the opportunity to choose a wide variety of projects, and above all else the chance to pursue your lifelong dreams of working at a creative career while enjoying everything it has to offer.
Freelance Graphic Design
Now one thing discussed at the seminar was how much a freelance graphic design could actually earn. There was no specific answer, which was clearly the cause of much chatter, confusion and dismay by a large number of people in the group, but what was even more shocking was that graphic designers earned on a widely varying scale.
What did this mean for a freelance graphic design? It means that with skills and experience, coupled with the fact that a portfolio of work associated with well known companies and brand, could actually have a graphic designer demanding a higher freelance fee than others.
All in all, the freelance graphic design seminar was the source of inspiration for many freelance designers and it was obviously the starting point, since the designers voraciously consumed every last available literature offered for those who wanted to start a freelance career.
